Atlas Travel Medical Insurance Travel Delay Coverage

Atlas Travel Medical Insurance is an insurance policy designed for international travelers from around the world. Atlas travel insurance includes comprehensive medical, emergency evacuation and essential travel benefits that provide financial protection to international travelers against different kinds of risks you can encounter while traveling outside of your home country.

If after your trip has started, due to a covered reason you are delayed for 12 hours or more and require an unplanned overnight stay, Atlas Travel Medical Insurance provides Travel Delay benefit that pays for cost of reasonable accommodations and meals, up to the amount indicated in the Schedule of Benefits and Limits. The expenses over the daily limit and maximum limit will be your own responsibility.

The covered reasons for Travel Delay benefit include delay of common carrier (e.g. airline, bus), a traffic accident, organized labor strike, lost passport or travel document, being hijacked or quarantined etc.

You need to provide police report, common carrier’s certificate, or doctor’s notes (for being quarantined) as supporting documents when you file a claim. You can call Tokio Marine HCC-MIS Group Customer Service Center for help and confirm what supporting documents are required.
