Atlas Travel Medical Insurance Complications of Pregnancy Coverage

Atlas Travel Medical Insurance is an insurance policy designed for international travelers from around the world. Atlas travel insurance includes comprehensive medical, emergency evacuation and essential travel benefits that provide financial protection to international travelers against different kinds of risks you can encounter while traveling outside of your home country.



Pregnant women are eligible for Atlas Travel Medical Insurance. Atlas insurance does not charge you a higher premium for being pregnant. Pregnant women are covered with the same medical and travel benefits as other members according to Schedule of Benefits and Limits.


Atlas Travel Medical Insurance has comprehensive medical benefits that pays for eligible medical expenses of covered illness or injury. For purposes of this insurance, illness includes Complications of Pregnancy during the first 26 weeks of pregnancy.  Atlas insurance pays for eligible medical expenses to treat covered complications of pregnancy. 


Complications of Pregnancy means illnesses whose diagnoses are distinct from pregnancy, but are adversely affected by pregnancy or caused by pregnancy and not associated with a normal pregnancy. This includes: ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous abortion, hyperemesis gravidarum, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, missed abortion and conditions of comparable severity. 


Complications of Pregnancy does not include: false labor, edema, prolonged labor, prescribed rest during the period of pregnancy, morning sickness and conditions of comparable severity associated with management of a difficult pregnancy, and not constituting a medically distinct condition.


Atlas insurance does not cover routine medical care for your normal pregnancy including routine prenatal care, child birth, postnatal care, and charges incurred by a child under the age of 14 days. All charges related to pregnancy after the 26th week of pregnancy are not covered. Atlas insurance does not cover termination of pregnancy except in connection with covered Complications of Pregnancy. 


Atlas insurance does not cover Promotion or prevention of conception including but not limited to: artificial insemination, treatment for infertility, sterilization or reversal of sterilization.



Atlas Travel Medical Insurance has comprehensive medical benefits that pays eligible medical expenses if you experience an unexpected illness or injury while traveling abroad.  Atlas insurance provides worldwide coverage. In the event of a medical emergency, you are free to go to doctors, hospitals, or other health care providers of your choice.
