For Medical and Travel Benefits, if you are under age 70, you may select the Overall Maximum Limit ranging from $50,000 to $2 million U.S. dollars per certificate period per person. For members age 70 to 79, you may select the Overall Maximum Limit from $50,000 to $150,000. Atlas Travel insurance offers coverage for applicants age 80 and over with a $10,000 or $20,000 policy maximum.
For Emergency Medical Evacuation expenses, Atlas insurance pays up to $1 million US dollars lifetime per certificate period per person, not subject to overall maximum limit.
For Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Atlas insurance pays up to $ 25,000 (travel plan) or $100,000 (premium plan) per person. For Common Carrier Accident Death , Atlas insurance pays up to $ 50,000 per person. These benefits are not subject to overall maximum limit.
Atlas America insurance provides worldwide coverage. If you travel to more than one country, you will be covered with the same benefits outside of your home country.
If you experience an unexpected illness or injury while traveling abroad and need to seek medical treatment, Atlas America insurance covers eligible medical expenses under benefits.
The covered medical expenses include treatment in doctor's offices, treatment in emergency room or urgent care centers, hospitalization, surgery, intensive care unit, radiology services, laboratory services, prescription drugs, emergency dental treatment or surgery, local ambulance, and other eligible medical costs. Atlas America insurance includes coverage for eligible medical expenses of acute onset of pre-existing conditions , complication of pregnancy , sports and activities , injury or illness resulting from terrorism. These benefits are included in the policy at no additional cost.
Atlas Travel Medical Insurance comes with key exclusions that do not qualify for coverage under this plan. You are not covered if expenses arise from anything in the General Exclusions.
In the event of a medical emergency, you are free to go to doctors, hospitals, or other health care providers of your choice. You have access to nationwide Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) networks of doctors and hospitals that covers all 50 states in the USA. If the patient is in a covered medical emergency that would result in the loss of your life or limb, the insurance company will organize air/ ground transportation to send the patient to the nearest hospital qualified to treat your life-threatening condition.
Following emergency medical evacuation, Atlas insurance provides Emergency Reunion benefit that will cover the transportation and reasonable lodging/ meal costs of one relative of yours to where you are hospitalized, so that you can get family support in this difficult situation.
In some cases, if the attending physician and the insurance company’s medical consultant agree that transfer the patient to his/her home country is more appropriate than transfer to the nearest qualified hospital, the insurance will pay expenses to return the patient to home country.

In the unfortunate event of a member who dies due to accident while riding on a common carrier (airline or cruise line), your designated beneficiary will receive Common Carrier Accident Death benefit. In the event of a member who dies or lost limbs/ eyes due to a covered accident, the insurance will pay Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefit to you or your designated beneficiary.
