Atlas Travel Medical Insurance Sports and Activities Coverage

Atlas Travel Medical Insurance is an insurance policy designed for international travelers from around the world. Atlas travel insurance includes comprehensive medical, emergency evacuation and essential travel benefits that provide financial protection to international travelers against different kinds of risks you can encounter while traveling outside of your home country.

Atlas Travel medical Insurance covers for injury or illness resulting from participation in a wide variety of sports or leisure activities not otherwise excluded under this insurance. You do not need to pay extra to get sports and activities coverage, it is included in your Atlas policy.

If you are injured or become ill while participating in covered sports or activities, Atlas Travel Medical Insurance pays for eligible medical expenses according to schedule of benefit and limits of medical coverage, as well as other eligible travel benefits.

If you sustain a covered life-threatening injury or illness and the local medical facility cannot provide medically necessary treatment to save your life or limb, Atlas insurance has Emergency Medical Evacuation benefit that can organize and pay for emergency air or ground transportation to take you to the nearest qualified hospital.

Following a covered emergency medical evacuation, or if you are confined in a hospital Intensive Care Unit, Atlas insurance has travel benefits such as  Emergency Reunion or Bedside Visit that pay to bring your family to be with you during difficult times.

You are covered if you take part in amateur/non-professional sports and activities, e.g. taking a cruise, playing soccer, hiking, surfing, mountain biking, etc. You must ensure the activity is adequately supervised and that appropriate safety equipment (such as protective headwear, life jackets etc) are worn at all times.

Atlas insurance does not provide protection for all of the sports and activities. You are not covered for participating in the sports and activities that are excluded by the insurance (e.g. boxing, sky surfing, cave diving) , neither are you covered if you participate in professional and/ or paid sports or activities.

If you are planning an adventure travel to explore the world,  learn the potential risks of adventure travel and how Atlas Travel Medical Insurance can help

If you have questions, you can contact HCC-MIS Customer Services to inquire whether your planned activity can be covered before you participate in dangerous sports or adventure activities.
